Meridian
Light Sculpture
Maple, 12oz canvas, LED strip, ESP32 microcontroller
Meridian is an autonomous blank canvas that actively tracks the exact position of the sun anywhere on earth. When the sun rises in your locale, Meridian wakes. When the sun begins to set, Meridian begins to set, too. When the sun finally dips behind the horizion, Meridian renders as nothing more than a blank canvas. It repeates this cycle daily, adjusting every month for the seasons, translating the sun into a tangible object inside your home.
